About

My Background

My love of photography developed from my primary career of private investigation.  In 1981, the law firm I worked for gave me a Minolta SRT 102 camera.  From there, I began to realize photography is an art.  I spent a great deal of time studying the art of photography.  Over the years, I have taken thousands of photographs and read dozens of books on photography.  All of that led to me developing my own style of photography, which is displayed on this website.

Photographic Communication

Photography is more than just taking snapshots of family and friends.  It is more than having the latest equipment.   Photography evokes emotion.   A photographer friend of mine once told me, "Whatever you photograph, you first see with your heart."  Photography becomes a form of meditation.  It becomes a philosophy.  It allows the photographer to communicate how they see the world.  When I look at photographs I always ask,   "What made that one instant in time worth preserving in a photograph?"   With all my images, I try to elicit some type of emotional response from the individual viewing the image.  And, I hope they ask, "What made that instant worth preserving?"

Sharing

I hope my images  bring enjoyment and cause the viewer to become emotional vested in the image.  I hope they ask questions about the images and the background of the images.  All images are available as prints.
